With the closing of MobileMe I expected things to improve, but that didn't happen.

I have a former MobileMe @me-address and a friend allowed me to use his newly created iCloud @me-address on my iPod to perform some tests. I am sending eMails back and forth and push does not work on both sides. It always takes 15mins (fetch-mode). Push didn't work before and still does not today.

But: That's the case because I am in Germany. And as you know Motorola/Google got a court ruling that forbids Apple to use Push in Germany. Today I took my iPhone and the iPod across the border to Austria and used the shopping mall's WiFi. And suddenly Push worked as it should!

So my guess is that since yesterday Push is working all over the world except Germany...

I have had a similar problem with iCloud synchronisation for a week or so - but not with email push.

The calendar updating between my iMac, iPhone and iPad stopped synchronising (it appears that some calendar updates went from my iPhone to my iMac but not to my iPad - calendar updates on my iMac did not show up on my iPhone or my iPad).

I think the same thing was happening to my Address Book - but I did not test it scientifically.

I avoided using iCloud for email from the start (and did not use iCloud predecessors).

I tried out Andrewita's suggested steps (see contrbution above dated Jun 12 2012, 2.06am) amended for Address Book instead of Email - this involved deleting the entire address book and then having it reload after resetting the iCloud settings.  Hooray - this worked allowing two-way automatic syncing of iMac and iPhone Address Books via iCloud.  I hope this continues.

I then tried Andrewita's steps to reinstate synchronisation of the Calendars via iCloud.  This involved deleting the Calendar on the iPhone.  The good news - two-way synchronisation for new entries is working.

The bad news -  the previous Calendar entries have not returned to the iPhone. If they are not re-instated overnight, I will revert to a synchronisation of the Calendars via iTunes - and hope that I can turn on iCloud synchronisation again after that.

Then I will have to try it all again for the iPad!

No push mail since one hour in FRANCE 3.00pm.

iCloud status "All services are online".

    Not for old MobilMe users

  • kenozz Level 1 Level 1

Thanks for that your fix worked for me

  • kenozz Level 1 Level 1

It only worked for an hour so back to square one

Forwarding all my iCloud mail to Gmail as that always works for me

will keep my eye on this thread to see if Apple have sorted it a

I am having this issue too. My mobileme account was migrated yesterday and until then push email was working flawlessly. Today it has stopped working completely on my iphone and ipad. Tried all the usual fixes such as restarting and turning push off and on but nothing is working.

Very annoyed at this as I always found mobileme push very reliable. I also have a yahoo account configured on both devices and it works properly.

I hope apple sort this out now that mobileme is finished

  • kenozz Level 1 Level 1

Seems the common denominator is Mobileme, I too had a MobileMe account, but I migrated my email etc across some months ago, but left my iDisk and gallery on there, so that would have been deleted yesterday

And like you Push was working fine till yesterday evening, it only effects my iPhone, as push to my Mac's are ok

I have tried forwarding to Gmail as a temporary work around but even that is not working iCloud is forwarding some emails but not others its random, so its a mess for me at the moment

  • kenozz Level 1 Level 1

See Apple are acknowledging the problem now

So at least that's a good thing, as we know its a know problem, and a fix is on the way

Interesting...I can never be more than cautiously optimistic, but maybe they were waiting to shutter MobileMe before tackling it, and once they found it really was a more systemic issue than first realized, were ready to go public with it.

  • dnair Level 1 Level 1

Let's be realistic here....Apple doesn't have a clue why push email is failing!! And they don't have a clue how to fix it. Steve Jobs went on a well justified tirade about mobileme's failings, remember!

Their claim of 125 million iCloud subscribers means nothing.....especially to someone like me who's paid for the service only to have iCloud mess it up with MobileMe migration. iCloud subscription does not mean 125 million people have signed up for email addresses.

Cloud computing is a great concept/plan. Unfortunately, Apple cannot execute with reliability.

Ensure your files are backed up on your own drives. What will you do when Apple's NC server farm goes kaput?

It's like having a Ferrari Enzo with an engine from an AMC Gremlin!!

iCloud push email failed all week except for 2-3 mails that trickled through!

I intentionally did not kill the mail app or reboot/ restart the phone.

Same issue here for at least a month. Push works very intermittently on my iPad with iCloud email. I started out with a address, so it's not any kind of migration issue, at least not on my end. The turning off, shutting down, and restarting solution worked for a couple hours, and then it went back to mostly not working. And I never seemed to have this problem prior to the iOS 5.1.1 update.

I also recently had some problems opening a JPEG attachment that my friend sent me from her iPhone. It was just a JPEG. Sent from an iPhone. Maybe the iCloud mail service needs some top-to-bottom attention.

    Contact iCloud

  • stu0 Level 1 Level 1

I agree. I never had Mobile Me.

Fetching email on my iPhone works well, Push has not worked properly since 5.1.1

I am still having issues. I have also found that Ihave a rogue 2nd AppleID that was linked ot the same email address as my Primary AppleID. The AppleID I am using to access these fourms is the 2nd ID. I can't log in to the forums using my main AppleID as it is saying I have two AppleIDs linked to the same primary email address.

I definately do not have this anymore. I changed the email address on the 2nd AppleID to a GMail address and the primary ID is linked to me address.

I can;t help but this that my push issues are because I have an AppleID and a AppleID that are somehow linked. When I make a change to the ID it is reflected in the ID. I wish I could just have the ID removed, unlinked whatever - I just want it gone !
