How to sync music using iCloud?

I'm living in Switzerland and the Swiss Apple website says that music syncing is possible with iCloud. Yet on all my devices (iPhone 4, iPad 1, Mac Book Pro, and iMac) there is no option for music syncing just apps and books.

Is there something I need to do to enable this (note: I have looked in the Store settings for the iPhone after upgrading to iOS5 and only apps and books are available there is no slider for music - on the Swiss Apple website there is a third music option which I do not see)? Or is the information on the Swiss Apple website incorrect and I need to wait till they enable it?

If the latter it would save a lot of grief if Apple would provide the correct information on their website as I spent hours trying to figure this out so far.

We seem to be going round in circles here.

1) you can see from my sig on the left I am in the UK

2) we've established that you don't see the Music option

3) we've established that we don't believe it's a regional issue as it's on the Swiss web site

4) we've established that I don't know the answer to your problem - I'm only giving you my opinions on what happens/should happen.

As I said above, let's hope that someone else can chip in here with an answer. Why don't you ring Apple support and ask them? Or email iTunes support, They are very good and always respond within 24 hours.

So you when go on iTunes on your Mac and you click 'Purchases' on the right-hand menu - what appears? It should be Music, Apps, and Books.

On your iPhone when you go into iTunes and tap 'Purchases', what appears?

Before iOS 5 launched, this was ONLY available in the US, the rest of the world could only sync Books and Apps in the Cloud. It does state on the Swiss site that the service is not available in all countries, however this does not appear on the UK site as the service is available. Maybe it just needs a bit of re-wording to avoid confusion.

I think the conclusion we have all come to is that it just isn't available on the Swiss Store. As you say, it does actually say on the Swiss site that it isn't available in all countries.

Now, it seems to me this is the same naughtiness on Apple's part when they didn't make it clear that most of Siri's functions are not available in the UK!

Surely, they could just state somewhere the countries that do have these facilities available to save all this confusion.

OK Guys... after a 15 minute wait in the queue, I managed to speak with Apple customer support Germany. The following statement applies for Germany, Switzerland and Austria:

"Music syncing is - for reasons of copyright - not yet available in said countries."

It's actually written in small, bold type on the following pages:

http://www.apple.com/de/icloud/features/

http://www.apple.com/chde/icloud/features/

So we'll just have to be a little bit patient.

I just had a look at the Swiss website and they have updated it since I first posted. On the original page they explicitily showed a picture of the Store options on the iPhone including Music syncing and I don't recall the statement that this service was not available in all countries even in the fine print. The only statement they had at that time was the one about the versions of iTunes etc one needed. So it seems they are improving the website.
