Is anyone else having any problems with their iDevice not doing the automatic iCloud backups? Ever since I installed iOS 5, I have had to run the iCloud backup manually and its a little concerning that it wont run automatically.

Yep same here no indication that any settings are incorrect, plugged the phone in, made sure wi-fi is connected lock screen on and........nothing. Manual only. Too wierd.

Go to Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup > take note: "Automatically back up your camera roll, acconts, documents, and settings when this iPhone is plugged in, locked, and connected to Wi-Fi." Only if these three conditions are met when automatic backup to iCloud will expectedly work. Cheers!
Yeah I have had it locked, connected it to power and left it on the wifi and it still doesnt do it automatically. It will do the wifi sync just fine but the automatic iCloud backup is still a manual job.
Same here. Half the time I can't get the manual backup to work.

What exactly does "connected to wi-fi" mean?... does it simply mean that my iPhone is connected to wi-fi via my wireless router? ... or does it mean that I need to open up a browser (e.g. Safari)?
