Why has Siri stopped working on iPhone 4 after upgrading to IOS 5?

Siri is now available only on the iPhone 4s. Since the keynote announcement earlier this month, users have been reportign that their Siri apps have been telling them that it would "expire" when the iPhone 4s was released.

Siri is currently still in beta; whether or not it will become available to other devices in the future has not been announced.

Siri not working for me. 2nd time since getting the phone on Friday. Nothing I try is resolving the issue including rebooting, reseting the network connect. Siri states she can't connect to network, but yet I'm connecting to 3G just fine. What's going on Apple?

If you're talking about the old Siri app that used to be in the app store, it's because that service has been shut down. Siri is now integrated with iOS ONLY on the iPhone 4S. You can no longer use it on other iPhones.

As much as I like Apple, I despise it when they do heavy-handed things like this. Siri was working just fine on my iPhone 4. Now it's dead - nothing but pressure to force iPhone 4 users to buy a 4S.

Shame on you, Apple.

As you may now know, Apple has officially purchased SIRI, a deal apple made for new features for the iPhone 4S. Siri was originally an app on the AppStore however apple has pulled the software out. Hopefully us iPhone 4 users can hope that apple will port SIRI onto older iPhones/ idevices.

Also SIRI can run perfectly under the iPhone 4's A4 chip. This is apple's way to get users to upgrade their phones, it's all marketing methods. We feel cheated, but, there is hope.

Apple has not been forthcoming on the explanation. My Siri worked on my iphone4 (not 4s) immediately after upgrading to IOS5, but I take it they have redirected the servers that used to support Siri to only work with Iphone4s.

It is one thing for apple to only bundle the improved Siri with IPhone 4S, or for them to remove Siri from the Ap store.

But it is another thing all together for apple to purchase a company, and then cease the service that many of us paid for.

Attempts to contact apple at apple store and via email have been unhelpful.
