Hi,
I've successfully updated my iPhone 4 and Lion. The next step for migrating to icloud from mobileme/me.com is supposed to be for me to log into iCloud.
I can't log into iCloud (or MobileMe) through system preferences, but I can log into me.com. What gives? This is incredibly frustrating. Does anyone have advice?

I think I have the same thing.
I'm on iCloud on my iPhone 4, but when I try to go to iCloud through system preferences on my Macbook, it just asks me to 'move to iCloud'. When I click to move to iCloud, it just links me to the 'find my phone' screen for mobile me.

I have had the same problem with moving MobileMe to Icloud and the website you've given only sends you to "find my phone" page. I still can't make the move so ICloud on Mac is not available.
So it turns out that in my case, I needed to turn off my Norton Firewall to log into iCloud under my me.com/mobile me account. Then everything worked. Sheesh.
I also did the me.com/move step before figuring out that I needed to turn off my firewall.
Glad that worked for you all. I don't have a firewall so I still don't know why I can't transition. Apparently Apple doesn't know either. Pretty frustrating. ICloud works great between IPhone and IPad but is worthless on the Mac.
Same situation except I can see from iCloud what is on my iPad and iPhone for documents, etc except photos. I have a mac.

So here's what I did that finally gave me iCloud on my Mac. Go to Settings. Click on Mobile Me. In the top right corner click sign off. That immediately brought iCloud onto my Mac. Only took 3 weeks to figure it out - wish Apple would tell us this stuff.
