    That's not it for me.

At this point... I'm pretty sure anyone who is still have an issue would've tried or checked this   Thanks though!

Yes, I assumed most of the frustrated folks in this thread had tried that already but hopefully it will help a few others. I'm a power-user and I missed checking my AppleIDs even though two commenters mentioned it in passing. Good luck with your issues.

So finally I had the chance to test reinstalling iCloud on my computer. Once uninstalled and reinstalled iCloud, I activated photostream and didn't change the standard folders for download and upload. I also logged in with my regular Apple-ID (not the associated address) and now everything is working fine! Good luck!

Yes, yes, yes, I mean NO NO NO.

Uploads working but nothing helped to get the downloads to show up in "My Photo Stream" subfolder of the "Photo Stream" folder...

In the same boat, and none of the above helps.

After some of the posts I am starting to wonder if photostream is what I really want any way!!!  This may not really be the right place for this but as it is a direct result of the last 5 or so pages of discussions here I go .

1 - I thought the 30 day storage part was only for the beta.  Or have I mis interpreted something?

2 - If working, can photo stream handle sub-folders?

3 - we (work) use our iPhone cameras a lot particularly to document our customer visits, to back these up is photostream really the best option, or should we be relying on the sync to iTunes method?

    Any info will be appreciated.

Maybe also off topic but I usually simply email to my Google Picasa Webalbum where emailed pictures show in the Drop Box folder. From all the sites I like Picasa Webalbum the best. I'd like to see iCloud Photo Stream management tools on the web but since it's only device to device I'm not so thrilled about it myself; still let's get it to work now. I'm sure stuff like this will show up in my next DSLR.

Welll.... I tried reinstalling again.  No go.  i thought since making other changes it might help - but it didn't.  Oh well.  Hopefully Apple will figure it out.

I solved the problem on my Windwis 7, 64bit.  ApplePhotoStreamsDownloader.exe was using 100% on one of my CPU's cores. 25% from overal CPU. Uploading was working and downloading was not.

I ran C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Internet Services\ApplePhotoStreamsDownloader.exe in compatability mode with Windows XP SP3. (Actually with Administrator privilages, but I think it doesn't matter) and it worked like a charm. Try it.

Great suggetion... didn't work on mine.

Probably partly because I can't get that file to remain open anymore (since a re-install).  It runs for a second and then closes.

Nothing I do to it will keep it running in my task manager.  Hmmm... I'm starting to potentially see part of my problem...

I never reinstalled iCloud, but that file closes in a second on my computer either.

    Doesn't help... ((

I have the same problem and can't fix it no matter what I do.  I have to try it on my other PC with Windows 7 to see what happens.  This one has Vista.

Photo Stream shows nicely on Apple TV 2...

Hi, guys! It started to work!! It fixed itself!

The only things I did over the last couple of days - once changed the folder from My Photo Stream to Downloads in the settings, launched this ApplePhotoStreamsDownloader.exe program once (and it closed in a second) and restarted my computer in two-three days after that! And now it works in both directions!

I think that the Apple guys have changed something on their servers.

So I was having the same issue.  What I believe caused it was the fact I setup my iCloud account and Photostream and then shutdown my machine prior to it fully syncing the photos down.  I believe this either cause database corruption or perhaps iCloud thought it had downloaded the photos and updated the database prior to actually successfully receving the file.

In any event this is what I did to resolve:

    Turn off Photostream.

Stop all Apple iCloud services from Task Manager by highlighting them and selecting end process:

(I have no idea if all of these are required to stop but I did this for safe measure)

    I then went into :

    C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MediaStream\

and deleted all the files \ folders in this directory.

I then opened back up the iCloud app (which will automatically start back up those services we stopped), and turned back on Photostream.  My photos then began to download.

Let me know if that helps!
