SIRI is in beta testing. Will not always work.

Siri was announced as beta software. If it stops working from time to time it is normal... the world has not ended. Once service in out of beta you can complain. In the meantime report bugs to Apple. If Siri cannot connect to servers assume they are overloaded or being worked on by Apple and use your fingers like you did 4 days ago.

It was said at the 4S announcement and is stated in a disclaimer at the bottom of the Siri product page.

"Siri is available in Beta only on iPhone 4S and requires Internet access. Siri may not be available in all languages or in all areas, and features may vary by area. Cellular data charges may apply."

I am not sure what is so funny. If you are just trolling, have fun.

I'm only astonished at your viewpoint. Apple caters to a market that wants things to "just work" and also to those that are less technically savey. Ask anyone on the street about Siri on the iPhone and find out how many people think the service is in "Beta" and expect the service to be down on their new top flight phone. Having a disclaimer at the bottom of the iPhone page in fine print is fine for legal proceedings, not for people's expectations.

When Apple demoed this to the press they Said it was beta software and that it was limited to the 4S. The Siri product page not only has the disclaimer at the bottom Of the page but also a bright orange graphic next to the

'Siri' headline that says 'Beta'. People always complained that Apple should be widely beta testing things before they ship and now they have and people *****. Maybe they should ship the phone with a big warning by the surgeon general... oh wait, people don't pay attention to those either.

Siri will never come out of Beta and is in a state known as a "rolling beta" there is never one finished product due to the ever evolving status of Siri.

It's also financially more effective cost wise to Apple who can work on features while Siri is here rather than waiting for beta testing to end. It's only a tag on a logo, when you look at your iPhone it's not called Siri Beta, it's a fully fledged service.

If it was out of beta and these sort of things still happened then they would be held liable and all kinds of **** would break loose, leaving it in beta is their legal backfall & protects them against things that don't function as described.

So you can stop saying, "when Siri comes out of beta" and "it's only beta" Siri will not be out of Beta by this Fall, and could be in beta for years and may never actually come out of beta.

You already have the best of Siri, so you do not have to anticipate Siri becoming a real artificial intelligence or something like that.
