Is there any way to tell if someone has iMessage?
For example, I would like to send an message to someone in my address book.
If this person has iMessage, I will text him/her, if not, I prefer e-mail,
especially for people live in another country. How can I tell?
Your text to them will be in a blue bubble as opposed to a green one 😉
When you place their email address in the To: field it will turn red.

Thanks! And I also realized that before you start typing, the text box will also show "iMessage"
if the receiver has it.
Also probably worth noting that you should turn off "Send As SMS" (in Settings > Messages) otherwise - like me - you could be landed with a bill for lots of messages that started out as iMessages, but when it failed to deliver them as iMessages reverted to SMS.
Yes, I just noticed that one of the iMessages I sent turned out to be SMS in the end. Thanks for the reminder.
Is there an App or how can you scan your address book to find out who has or uses imessage
It is a pain to try one by on from your address book. So far i found out that 4 poeple from my addressbook has ios5 this way.
