How do I stop Error 42408 in Itunes 10.5??!! Can't sync or connect to store!

Please help! From the moment I installed Itunes 10.5 everything has gone wrong. I can't sync my Iphone (it says "backing up" forever and I can't drag/drop songs to it), the Iphone has IOS 5. And the Itunes 10.5 always starts up with "error 42408" and cannot connect to Itunes store!

Had this same exact problem. My iTunes was upgraded to 10.5 either as part of a software update, or when I installed Lion from the app store.

To correct this problem, re-download iTunes 10.5 here: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

That will give you a new .dmg file. Remove the old iTunes icon from your dock. Open the .dmg. Run the installer. Drag your new iTunes 10.5 icon to the dock from the Applications folder. Launch iTunes.

That 42408 error did not appear for me at all. It used to appear on startup, didn't see it. It would also appear when trying to purchase and download, didn't see it. I was able to purchase new music, download it, and it automatically appeared on my iPhone 4S via iCloud.
