@me.com email address not able to send email

I am using my @me.com email address with iCloud. I have tried turning off Wi-Fi to send. I have tried turning it back on. I have tried deleting the account and adding it again. I don't have a computer that I use this email address except for the iCould website, so I don't know if it's a home network issue or just a phone issue. I can receive email just fine, but sending gives me the "The sender address "myemail@me.com" was rejected by the server. A copy is placed in the Outbox and sits there indefinitely.

I'm not really sure what else to do. My MobileMe account expired before iCould went live, so I got my email address back, but all of my music and app purchases are tied to this account. I would like to use iCloud for everything (email, calendar. etc), but it doesn't seem to want to play nice with actually sending email.

I can't send any email nor receive any, not on my computer, nor iPad or iPhone. The only way to send emails is via the webbased iCloud site but then again, I am not receiving any mail anywhere, not even webbased. Very very annoying and hindering my business and social life tremendously. It's been like that for at least 24 hours, don't know how long before that, I was travelling, but it worked fine when I left home on sunday morning.

add me to the list...

I haven't been able to send at least the last few hours, not sure when the issue started so it may be longer. My issue is only with sending e-mail from iPhone 3GS, I can send fine from iCloud.com. I can recieve on iPhone with no problems, just sending is not working. Also, e-mail sent from iPhone 3GS show up in Sent folder when viewed on iCloud.com so I know the item is hitting the iCloud servers/ I would venture to guess that this is due to the iCloud SMTP servers are getting slammed with all the new email as 20 million people updated to iOS5 & added iCloud accounts over the past few days. May just be a growing pain, I plan to wait a bit before switching back to gmail.com

UPDATE:

Just got these bounce back emails from Apple's email server, it's just as I thought, one huge bottleneck of SMTP traffic hitting the servers..

It's still weird, my wife and daughter have no issues what so ever with their me. accounts via iCloud. Me as main account holder has no access what so ever to the iCloud mail service.

I had rerouted my personal domain mail via my me account and I have been obliged, after being out of reach for for I don't know how long, to reroute it through a new gmail account, which works fine now.

So, I am back in business thanks to gmail and I will return to iCloud when all of these worried messages have disappeared from the discussions forum.

I am getting similar error but only from my ios devices (iPad and iPhone) the icloud web mail works just fine. This is getting really frustrating.
