Compensation for Ipod Touch 2g Users

I have had my iPod Touch 2G 16GB since the day it came out over 2 years ago. Upon the release of IOS5, I began to wonder, since my iPod can no longer recieve updates past 4.2.1 (due to hardware reasons), can I be compensated for not recieving new updates and thus, being shut out from being able to do / use special applications that require a certain firmware such as iCloud? Also, is it possible to trade in my current iPod for a 4th Generation Touch that is able to receive the new updates? Thanks!

You're joking, right? It's over 2 years old. Apple does not support hardware forever. If you want a new iPod touch, you'll have to buy one at the regular price like everyone else.

I understand that due to the old hardware they may not support it; however, I was hoping that they would at least allow you to do a trade in for a newer model for a cheaper price, as Sony, Samsung, and Google have done for me in the past. I was just curious, but Thanks.

You could go to an Apple store and ask them and see what they say. It doesn't hurt to ask. I doubt they will do what you want, but you never know until you ask.
