Q: iPhone 4S - Outgoing call no audio

Picked up a Verizon iPhone 4S - 32GB and on about 1 in 10 calls I get no outbound audio when dialing.  Call shows the timer counting as if the call is progressing but absolutely no ring back and cannot hear the party on the other end when they answer.

Anyone else having this issue?  I've found a few forums online stating people have had luck hitting the speaker button on and off to get it working again but it hasn't failed in the past 20 minutes for me to test that theory..

Thanks...

Hey, no offense guys, but you writing in cyrillic doesn't really add to the conversation. Others don't speak English as their mother tongue either, but do just fine expressing themselves so that we can understand.

I'm guessing Micor wrote something about iOS 5.1 fixing the problem?

The part of this conversation which is really out of crying as usual, is the lat my post. It's about whre to buy cables and other items for iPhone cheap (1-3 USD each). But I think everybody knows the Dealextreme and that you must read all reviews there to avoid buying deep ****.

sorry, guys! been hanging here for more that month, first time met anybody from our country where there's no official sale yet. And anyone who got 4S in Russia must think about how to get their phone replaced if it's hardware problem:)

back to the point, nothing new here. Everybody in waiting for the 5.1 to come.

    Heres an interesting theory.

Well i bought a new 64gb iphone 4s Saturday which had 5.0.1 which had the no audio issue, i had it replaced for a new handset and it did the same thing and also had 5.0.1.

I had my phone again replace today but this time by apple and it has 5.0.

So far so good and no issues.

Sounds like to me it could be the software thats the issue and not hardware.

Talked to Apple suport and they asked me to restore to factory settings and then restore from backup.

Unfortunately this did not help and I called them again. They asked me to send the device and they will repair it.

The person said it might be a hardware issue.

This means 10 days with no phone which is not acceptable.

If I remember correctly, the issue only started after I installed iOS 5.0.1

Before I send it in, I would like to test 5.1

Any idea when it is released?

Same problems here. Brand new iPhone 4S. On the 6th day, lost outgoing audio for calls (I can hear them, they can't hear me). Speakerphone DOES work, but if I toggle speakerphone off and on as others have said, still does not fix my problem. I have Siri on but raise to talk off, have tried both ways and doesn't seem to affect it.

Have tried a reset and complete restore and neither solved the problem. My problem happens on 100% of calls. Very frustrating.

I have Verizon so considering starting with the Verizon store. Might call to add insurance first. ;-) Seriously annoyed at Apple at this point.

I will keep posting my results since so much gets lost in other posts.  I was having the no audio problem on my end 9 out of 10 calls.  Replaced one phone & had the same issue on the other.

Downloaded 5.1 Beta (not 5.01) yesterday morning & I have not had a problem since.  I have made around 30 calls since then.

I have been lucky - I have the outbound "no-audio" issue on about 50% of the calls, but a quick touch of the speakerphone (and then off) is now working for me 100% of the time.

Yes..the speakerphone trick worked for me, but glad 5.1 fixed that.
