Q: iPhone 4S - Outgoing call no audio

Same issue with my iphone 4s. Carrier telia in sweden. Symptom 1 : no audio every now and then for outgoing calls. Sometimes, but not always, solved with toggling speaker or mute. Symptom 2: Outgoing call starts in speaker phone - mode by itself. Solved by restarting phone. Symptom 3. Echos and static for me and the other end of the call after a while using headset. Solved by unplugging headset. This is occuring at least 10 times a day spread over the symptoms above.

I have had an iphone 1, 2, 3, 3S, 4 and now the 4s. I can rule myself out of the root cause this time.

Apple please see this.

I just rolled out 22 of these 4S phones at my company from Blackberry.  Out of all people, the CEO seems to be having these issues.  May exchange his phone for mine and I'll deal with the issues until this is sorted.  Rather it be me than him.

On my second 4S and having same issues.  Speakerphone issue more prevelant on this phone than the last.  Very disapointed as I need my phone for work.  I don't believe it is worth trying another. 

in my new iPhone 4s with only 8 days have the same problem, most of calls lose audio only a few seconds it starts. Also, my batery life it´s too sort...

should i go to the shop and change this phone for another one?? O_o

Got my first iphone ever a few days ago. After setup everything i´ve tried some calls. first i was thinking it was my fault that my voice wasn´t recognized on the other side - but now i´m sure it is a problem of the iphone! What is the best way to solve this? Replacement unit or waiting for an official update? apple support germany told me to reset my iphone to default but i´m not sure if this would solve this problem...

No. Definitely not just a software issue. My replacement phone has no such problems. In fact I am terribly trying all sorts of combinations and faced no problem so far.

Defintiely cannot be a software problem alone. Please get it replaced as soon as possible.

I have no clue about that. I bought unlocked version from apple store in canada. So I had to deal only with apple store. But the point is rather than trying for workarounds if possible all should try to get the phone replaced (even if that means waiting) or return because I definitely dont think it is a software issue.

I also have same problem.

Black iPhone 4s 32gb.

Brought it from car phone warehouse on O2.

I make a call and cant be heard untill I call back.

I also get problems when receiving calls I can't be heard

And sometimes can't hear the caller properly although I may have full signal.

To be fair the problem is worse when I only have 1-2 signal bars.

I'm going to try and swap the phone at the weekend il let you know what happens.

Yeah its being reported in all tech sites, but the sad part is its ugly comments between android and apple folks. Hope Apple acknowledges this and comes with a solution. This is much more important than the battery drain issue (which I havent faced yet).

Yes, it's finally taking off, soon the mainstream media will follow, they take the lead from Mashable on technology issues. I already heard from a friend that he's holding off on an iPhone 4S purchase until they figure out this bug.

Add me to the list of disgruntled customers... both with Verizon and Apple. Long story short: Seems Verizon didn't want to replace my one day old phone. They sent me to Apple. Apple wanted me to wait 3 days for a tech guy to check it out. I called Verizon back and they told me I needed to call the warranty department and get a new phone. Warranty department told me I had to go back to store to get new phone. When I complained about the run around, they called the store for me. I still had to go back to the store... the manager wouldn't even look at me. Another employee helped me put in the order. Now I just wait for another week or 10 days for replacement and then I get to face that store again.
