A friend took an iPhone 4 video of me, but we're having the hardest time getting it off the phone - either using iPhone Explorer to my MBP, or regular Apple sync to her MBP. We can play the video on the phone, but have been unable to see it or extract it from any computer.
Having a nice video camera is great, but how do we get the videos off so we can use them? Totally stumped.

You can use iphoto, or you can use "image capture" (search your mac).
Thsi can be done on any mac and will not wipe the iphone (just don't sync to itunes).

The confusion in my mind, clarified by your responses, is that iPhone 4 manages video with the tools used (and named) for still photos, yet the default still photo behavior (to automatically sync) does not seem to apply to video.
