iPhone 4 upgraded to iOS5, now Bose SoundDock not working

I upgraded to iOS5 on my iPhone 4, and now it does not work with my Bose SoundDock. Does anyone have any ideas what caused this? I went to best buy and it works on other docking products. I'm hoping it's a bug, but if other people have this issue (or they upgraded and it's working fine) please comment.

I have the same issue. It is a new Bose sounddock (series II), and I have spoken to Bose who say that there is no reason why the iphone 4 shouldn't work with the sounddock after the ios5 update. They suggested that I simply reset the iPhone, but this didn't make a difference. Apple customer support were useless and said they hadn't heard of the problem.


Perhaps the next software update will fix this? Please let me know if you find a solution in the meantime as it's extremely frustrating. Other ipods and iphones that haven't been updated to io5 still work fine with the sounddock.

I'm having the same issue with two alarm clock docks - a Phillips & a Memorex. iPhone 4 ios4 worked fine with both of them. After upgrading to ios5 neither worked.


I'm going to try a reset on the phone, if it does any good I will repost.


It would be nice if Apple would test compatibilities before they subject people to an upgrade that makes their accessories useless.

I just want to add, when slotting the iphone into the sound dock II, the power light comes on on the bose for a second or two as normal, and you can hear the bose has recgonised it.


The phone will charge in the dock. it seems to play, although there is no sound. (time increments, and pause button appears)


If i connect to an apple tv, then put phone in the dock, the Audio selection lists the docking station correctly. But again no sound from the sounddock.


I've done all of the resets, restore settings etc, and so far its made no difference.


Kinda annoyed now.

I have Phillips and Memorex alarm clock docks that worked perfectly fine with my iPhone 4 with ios 4. Immediately after updating to ios5 both have become non functional as far as listening to music from my iPhone. Charges still, but no music and it actually screws up the music app on my phone where it will not work until I close the app in the tray and then restart it.


I went to the local Apple store today and purchased a Stem TimeCommand alarm clock. Same problem with this as with my other two docking clocks. I told the so called experts at the store about the problem, they said go to apple.com/feedback and report it. *** why don't they report it. They are selling crap off their shelves that won't even work with their iPhones.


Pretty dang riduculous that Apple says not a word about compatibillity. Let us be the guinea pigs I guess. I can take the Stem product back but I'm stuck with the other two.

I brought my iphone and sounddock into a retail store.


My iphone doesnt play in the store's sounddock II's

The stores iphone 4 plays in their sounddock II's and in mine.


The IOS5 versions of mine and the stores are identical.


I reset my phone again in the store and it doesnt play throught the bose.


Apple are taking my phone for repair/replacement
