Broke dock connecting port on ipod... any way to fix without buying new ipod or logic board?

A couple months i jammed my iPod Touch 4G 32 GB in my ihome and accidentaly broke the 30 pin dock connector. The iPod still charges but does not show charging icon in right hand corner or lockscreen while charging. Also, the iPod does not sync and so I cannot update to iOS 5 (due to the break i am still running 4.2.1). Is there anything that I can do short of replacing the logic board or the whole iPod itself?
