Can't authorize old AOL account to play music after migration

I plugged my external drive that contains my iTunes library into my newly purchased iMac and authorized what I thought was the only account. After I tried playing a few songs I discovered around 100 songs were purchased under an old AOL log in. When I tried to log in under the AOL account it said I needed to change it to an Apple ID which is fine but everytime I go through the process to change it to an Apple ID (apparently you can't merge it with an existing account) I get to the end and it says it's unable to complete the request at this time. This has been going on for days and in the meantime I can't play any of those tunes or transfer them to my new iPhone because the iMac isn't authorized.

Any ideas or experience with this would be appreciated.

Exactly what I'm trying to do. When I first downloaded Itunes, I used my AOL account. Since then,I have gone to apple account but can't get to my AOL account purchases. Itunes keeps taking me in a circle. Just keeps telling me I need apple account.

To make matters worse now, I just got new PC and it isn't recognizing as authorized computer on all my devices. I'm not a computer whiz at all, so getting really frustrated.
