Not possible. Audio needs to be 16 Bit 48.000 kHz AIFF (preferred) or WAV at the same specification.
You will need to find additional software or FLAC QuickTime Components to convert the files in QuickTime Player 7. This might work: http://www.xiph.org/quicktime/
Thanks Nick for the quick reply. I had Fluke installed already and this xiph extension is part of their package. So i could open .flac files from within QT and Itunes. but since I have sound fx in flac, it would have made my life a lot easier to be able to import them from within FCP directly.

If you can read the files in quicktime, you might be able to use compressor to batch convert. There's a preset all ready for 48k 16 bit aiff.
