Missing pictures/folders in Desktop & Screen Saver preference pane

Hi All,

On our MacBookPro at the office, we did a Lion Clean Install upgrading directly to 10.7.2, now in the "Desktop & Screen Saver" preference pane are listed just two folders under the "Apple option" (Desktop Pictures and Solid Colors), and one under "Folder option" (pointing to Pictures folder in the user's home).

Where is the Aperture files/folders structure tree? (in Snow Leopard it was automatically added to the available list, Aperture 3 installed and upgraded)

Where are the other folders for the desktop pictures?

By the way, it seem that there are quite a few ongioing discussion on similar problems:

(...)

we tried with permission repair and some light .plist deleting, but no way to obtain the option back.

Have you any clue about haw we can solve this?

thanks a lot!

Ok, deeply digging through forums we just figured out the issue. Thanks to TippyKayak on this thread:

we renamed the Aperture Library file (in pictures folder in your home folder), and upon starting Aperture itself will create a new empty library, in a moment you'll see that library appearing in the "Desktop & Screen Saver" preference pane. Quit Aperture, trash the new empty library, and rename back your original library file. On the next Aperture start, select it and voilà.

In the preferences pane you have the Aperture library option back.

In various posts we saw that same applies to iPhoto users, this should resolve that as well. (with iPhoto library file of course)

Thanks anyway, and special thanks to TippyKayak!
