Cannot connect my iPhone4 to my WinXp after updating iTunes

Hi. I upgraded my iTunes to the latest version on my WinXP machine. I changed the install derictory to a different partition(All files itunes folders`n`files have migrated to the new install location). Now my phone doesn`t connect with my machine. It doesn't charge either, nor its connecting with iTunes. Same with my iPod.

I tried locing into changing windows services and activating the iphone service, but it wasn`t even present there.

I also tried repairing by reistaling iTunes again but no luck.

If I install iTunes on another computer and authenticate my account on it, will it erase the data on my iphone?
