Can I go back to MobileMe?

I upgraded in haste to iCloud. Now, I can't sync anything with my MacBook 10.5.8 and iPhone 3G. Can I go back to MobileMe?

I was happy to pay for MobileMe, I've had an account since it was mac.com, but everything useful has gone with the migration to iCloud. I would really like to go back now, please.

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

I read the literature over and over and was expecting more performance, better features, and an easier transition. There is no doubt that iCloud does less than MobileMe. Why get rid of iDisk? It was awesome. Now I'll just give my money to Dropbox. An the MM Gallery was great! WTH! This is not to mention all the missteps and server issues with the iCloud launch - what a mess. My email was out the whole first week and then slow as crap until this week... now its just slow. Regardless, if MM is going to stick around for people to have time to buy the hardware (or save to do so), then it ought to work like it always did. Servers I've used for years with MM just stopped working - what a scam!

Guys, everytime I run into Juliann Wright on this site, he is the same crabby condescending A...hole. He is so in love with Apple that he can't abide criticism of it. Look at his number of posts... no life outside this little bubble whatsoever!

Hey all-

So I've been a mobile me user forever- I upgraded to the new iphone 4s, and icloud with it. After a few weeks my battery couldn't even stay charged for one day of work so I decided to return. Yes my old 3g keeps a charge for 4-5 days with out charging on the road with me. The 4s, well lets just say she's not ready life on the road.

Anyhow, now I'm trying to go back to my old mobile me service from icloud, as icloud is not supported on the 3g.

Help, thanks!

I'm on an old G4 tower system running Leopard 10.5.8 and somehow my MobileMe nows says in System Prefs that I am upgraded to iCloud.

Now I can't upload any photos to my MobileMe Gallery nor delete anything from there.

I know my Mail and iCal cannot be sync'ed, but I sure do not recall upgrading to iCloud on this computer. I have a laptop which is on iCloud as it's running Lion, etc.

Sure wish there was a way to revert back to MobileMe on this 11-yr-old computer.

iCloud is an online service. Migrate to it on one machine and you are migrated on all. However your MobileMe Gallery should continue to function as before for the time being, as should the iDisk. Are you not able to sign into MobileMe in System Preferences>MobileMe?

How do I sign out of iCloud and back into Mobile Me?

I return my new 13 inch 2.8 macbook pro tomorrow.

Having migrated to iCloud you may not go back to MM.

What are you going to replace the MBP with?

Well, iCloud has FFFfed my life up as I cannot post any new sites via iWeb.

Yes, you can. iCloud does not stop you from using iWeb to publish yor sites until MobileMe closes down next June.

You don't need to sign out of iCloud to continue using old MobileMe features. Just go to the MobileMe system preferences pane and sign in. You'll still be able to use iDisk, Gallery and iWeb Publishing until June 30th 2012.

While this is true it will not bring back Contacts/Calendar sync, only MM services that are not available on iCloud
