i can not access to my nas drive on lion

Hey,

I am trying access to my nas drive (icybox ibnas4220b) but i keep getting you dont have permissions to access error message. So far i manage to map the folders in nas drive using Connect to Server application (cmdK) but when i try to access to the folders inside i get the permission error message.

I am using Mac OSx 10.7.2. I am quite new to apple. Can anyone help...

Thanks

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.2)

There is a good chance the firmware for your NAS doesn't have up-to-date firmware. You should contact the manufacturer of the NAS and see if they support Lion and what you need to do on your existing unit to have it recognized. It's common for NAS manufacturers to lag behind when new OS releases come out so you need to keep this in mind when considering a OS update.

I might be running into the same problem...

When I mount a drive using the finder's "Go / Connect to Server..." command I can choose the share to connect to and it mounts the share, puts it on the desktop etc... but then it tells me that:

"The folder “Sharename” can’t be opened because you don’t have permission to see its contents.

And the drive sits on my desktop taunting me.

But! I've found that I can access the share from the terminal. I'm not sure if you're comforatable using the terminal, but if you are, try going into the /Volumes/ folder and using cd and ls to look around your share. Let me know if it works - it's a crummy work-around, but at least we'll know if we have (maybe) the same problem.

Good luck!
