CardDAV for Contacts / Address Book sync on Snow Leopard?

Following Apple's dismissal of us poor users of MobileMe with MacBook Pros and iMacs that cannot be upgraded to Lion, I successfully managed to, at least, sync my iCal to iCloud with CalDAV. However, Contacts/Address Book is still wild. Does anyone know the server details for CardDAV for iCloud?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

If you like digging for this , fine. The official advise is that you should buy all new equipment to use the new products :

Because icloud is PART OF LION and IOS. It is not available for older OS, because it is not part of the deal. Basically I would call it pircay what you are trying to do.

Sjazbec, you are wrong.

1. There is no official advice that says that we "should buy new equipment to use new products".

2. iCloud is not 'part of Lion'. It is an upgrade of MobileMe. Something I have paid £89 a year for so far!

3. It is not piracy. Piracy is theft. The contents of my Address Book in iCloud are my mine.

So, if you've nothing helpful to say, I suggest you say nothing.

iCloud is by all definitions NOT AN UPGRADE OF MM . It is a completely different product. MM is set to die in 2012, there is no replacement.

iCloud is EXCLUSIVE AVAILABLE TO IOS5 OWENERS or LION OWNERS.

YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO USE IT!.

Well, the really strange thing is that I, for one, already have those details: contacts.icloud.com. or p0n-contacts.icloud.com (n for number, as with caldav server), doesn't matter which one u use - on your iDevice. Works fine there, but not on Snow Leopard. I believe the reason for this is the fact that Address Book in SL cannot handle appended domains in your username (e.g xxx.xxx@gmail.com). It treats it differently than Lion AB. I've been fiddling around with this for hours, no dice.

I agree with GarryRobson.

All my MobileMe info since 2000 by the way is all bought and paid for. I am NOT going to be updating my MacBook Pro Core Duo any time soon, but my specs cannot enable me to upgrade to Lion. Frankly - I shouldn't need to. If iCloud can be supported to Windows back to 2007, why can't it be the same for Snow Leopard.

I think your comments are frankly, unhelpful.

I upgraded to Lion, threw up a little in my mouth when I saw the mail client, backed everything up, rolled back to SL, fired up Address Book, and cried about the $29 I just blew on something bad, but at least my calender and address book settings was restored via icloud as it was set up under Lion.

CardDAV Account;

icloud username/password

Server address: p06-contacts.icloud.com

Server path: /**some-unique-icloudnumberhere***/principal

Port 443 (Check the SSL box)

the **some-unique-icloudnumberhere*** I can't help you with a location/place to start looking, since I don't see it on my SL install, but on my Lion install it was under ~/Library/Application Support/iCloud/Accounts
