Is it possible to mis-calibrate the battery?

When I got my new iPhone 4 I did several full charging cycles, however now battery seems to be pretty bad. 6 hrs on light usage, and even less on heavy usage. [Tried setting it up as new, resetting network settings, re-adding mail accounts, setting brightness to 1/3 — nothing helps].

Some people guessed I could calibrate the battery the wrong way. So is it possible to miscalibrate the iPhone battery? Whan should I do to make the battery work the right way?

I don't believe so, especially since your phone is a year old by now. These are lithium ion polymer batteries and they dont' have any of the negative side effects of any older battery types.

Sounds like you're simply suffering some common battery drainage after updating to ios5. Search the many many threads here on that topic. Lots of good fixes.

My iPhone is only a week old! I tried many of fixes suggestions but it appears like nothing happens. Some people with the same new iPhones 4 (e.g. my dad and some friends) updated to iOS 5 w/o any issues. Some of them have the same battery life time as on iOS 4, one of them appear to have even better results than on iOS 4.
