Reminders created on my iPhone (running, of course, iOS 5) sync quite happily to iCal, but reminders created in iCal on my Mac are not sync'ing to the Reminders app on my iPhone? What am I doing wrong?

Ah, never mind, I have figured it out. I was creating reminders in iCal in the wrong calendar - as soon as I created one in the specially created 'reminders' calendar they synchronised over quite happily in about five minutes. Doh!

Also - is anyone else having problems with the wi-fi sync between Mac and iphone/ipad. That doesn't work for me either.

I assume you cannot sync reminders between iMac and IPhone/iPad unless you have upgraded to Lion. Correct??

Well, it depends which direction you mean. Reminders should automatically start to sync from your iPad and iPhone to iCal on your Mac once you have switched on iCloud and adjusted the various settings on all three devices according to preference. If you specifically mean synching *from* your Mac *to* your iPhone and iPad, then see my second response above - when creating the reminder, make sure you allocate it to special reminders calendar which you find already set up in iCal once iCloud is up and running.

So the only way to get Reminders to sync from iCal to the iPhone or iPad is to use iCloud. Am I correct in this?
I wish we could use the iTunes Info option of syncing local iCal reminders to an iPhone or iPad. That would be a lot less hassle and still give at least some full functionality. I'm not ready to migrate to iCloud just yet as I don't want to lose Google syncing of my Address Book and calendar (using Spanning Sync to keep the calendars local in iCal in sync)
Apple wants to force the users to use icloud, I think. There is no other reason for me. Itunes syncs all my events in calendar, in contacts and so on. Instead of reminders. This makes no sence. Apple is going more and more the way of Microsoft. Getting big and bigger, and offer more and more stupied solutions...

Yes, that appears to be the case. I agree that the absence of a local sync'ing option for reminders in the info tab is a little odd, but I haven't found iCloud to be a hassle partiuclarly. It works pretty seamlessly although it does require a perceptual leap if you're very used to manually synchronising data into and off your devices. I'm still struggling a bit with photos in that respect!

Easy - just set the reminders calendar as the default in iCal > Preferences > General

hi, there r diffrent between ical on mac or calender in iphone AND reminder in iphone
u cant see yr reminders on ical in the date
but u can see it on the right side of ical in mac by press view and show reminders
then u can see them on the right side
Here are the procedures I used to ensure my Mac and iOS devices were syncing Reminders.
1) Activate iCloud on iOS devices and a Mac running OS 10.7 or greater. http://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/
2) Ensure Reminders is turned on in your iCloud settings on your iOS devices.
3) Ensure Calendars is turned on in your Mac's iCloud settings.
Note: iCloud settings in Lion do not have separate list items for Calendar and Reminders.
Your Reminders should now start syncing seamlessly between all devices.

In 10.7 it does not works. You need at least 10.7.2 to make it work.
u have to turn reminders on in icloud in both of iphone and mac or imac whatever
in iphone go to setting - icloud then turn reminders on
in mac go to system preferences - icloud then turn calendars on
then every reminders u creat it from any device will go to other devices through icloud
and u can set the calendar time refresh in ical through : prefernces then accounts then u can choose the time from refresh calendars
same thing to events in calendars too between ical in mac and calendar in iphone or ipad
