send a detailed message about the microcell and your iphone and you should get a reply back in a week.

I've been having the same issue with the iphone 4 and ios 5.1. I've searched and tried all the various suggestions to no avail.
Just got off the phone with att and they say I'll have to wait for another ios update to see if it fixes it.
Does anyone know if Apple is going to address this in the next ios update?
Anyone?
I'd hate to think that I'll need to ditch the iphone for something else.
Well since I updated to 5.1.1 I can't get on my microcell at all anymore.
Same here. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse.
so, i'm still holding off on doing the 5.1. upgrade. now a few of us who have upgraded report that they've lost the licrocell all together. will someone please verify that the upgrade didn't make things worse. thanks.
also, i've been poking around the att micrcell website and found some interesting faq's i haven't seen before. for example:
My iPhone continues to display AT&T M-Cell when I'm on a call and leave the range of the MicroCell; is that OK?
Yes, this does not affect the call and is a known limitation of the iPhone.
i wish they'd at least remark that there's a problem with the "searching" when in proximity.
also, has anyone tried going into the "manage settings" section of the microcell website and clicking "disable" for "automatic handoff?" it's my understanding that disabling that feature will stop the iphone from looking for a regular tower when it is in range of that microcell. this may work though i have yet to try it because, quite frankly, i don't want to make things worse. from everything i have read, my common sense says that: if the iphone 4s actually has the two antennas i have heard are in their (to combat the earlier iphone 4 single antenna issue) and 5.0 then weaked the software to always be looking for a better signal for the inactive antenna (even on the iphone 4, which has no second antenna), that would explain the episodic "searching" even when in range of the microcell. for most of us, making a call during "searching" actually gets the "mcell" to display on the iphone. that's why i ask if anyone has turned the handoff feature off and that action has corrected the "searching" issue.
Last Saturday, 5/5, I came accross this fix and tried it....
I reset the microcell with the button on the back of the unit, reset my network settings on my iphone 4, reset my cable modem and router by unplugging them, then deactivated and reactivated the microcell. As of today I have not seen my phone lose signal to the microcell and everytime I come home it hooks right up.
Before that I tried the disable automatic handoff with no success. At this time automatic handoff is enabled.
I'm going to hold of on updating from ios 5.1 to 5.1.1 until someone can confirm that this fix works with the new ios.
The Microcell was off after installing.
To fix it, I just did a complete reboot: hit the power button and the selection button at the same time. Slide the shutdown thingy. Wait a minute. Restart. Voila! Back again!
You'd think customer support would know that one. I'm blond. I try the easiest thing first.

the lady from executive relations called me again, after me sending another log to engineering. the way she talked it sounded like to me she made it sound like there was nothing wrong with the iphone and they are blaming the microcell. she said she will call back later this week
note to Schooobaka:
did the fix you mentioned earlier this week (resetting everything) continue to work? are you now getting no random "searching" while you are home???
Since I did the reset, I've had one instance where it did not connect when I came home, did the airplane mode to reconnect, and one instance where I woke up for work at 4am and it was searching but it was connected again by the time I got out of the shower.
Definitly a huge improvement.
I also did the upgrade to 5.1.1 last weekend and have experienced no problems.
Similar problem. Spent an hour with AT&T tech doing all the resets listed in previous but not able to get mcell back. Conclude it is due to recent update.
i called at&t today and gave them heck about my at&t 3g microcell. it causes my iphone 4 running ios 5 to go into searching mode and calls aren't being made or received. its been an ongoing issue since the release of ios 5.
ive tried disabling handoff and putting the phone 4 into airplane mode. i replaced the sim module and i replaced the iphone. i called apple and spoke with executive realtions and nathan at applecare. i sent them telephony logs and they told me that there is nothing wrong with my phojne and it is because of the microcell
i have also tried de-registering it.
i called at&t and told them my at&t 3g microcell is 5 months out of warranty, they wouldn't help me. the microcell lady told me she can de-regiister it so i can "do it as i please". i was upset. they put me in contact with billing and they gave me 2 x $50 credits on my bill.
your milage may vary!!
they also advised me to write cisco headquarters on 170 tasman in san jose
Does anyone know if this microcell issue is fixed in the iOS 6 (beta). I've replaced the microcell 3 times and replaced our sim cards twice. The issue is def iOS 5.
