Lion 10.7.2 and iTunes 10.5 on a Mac Pro.
Everything has been fine until this morning when all of a sudden my background has changed color to black and the characters are white. I don't know what I did to cause this. More importantly, I don't have a clue on how to go back to a white background and black characters.

You have inadvertently turned on one of the accessibility features. The default command is Control-Option-Command-8 to toggle back to black on white. You can disable the feature in the accessibility control panel.

Thanks for the suggestion. However, while doing this does change the background on iTunes, it also flips the all the other windows to a black background and white characters. The only app that has the black background is iTunes, everything else is fine.
Ah, you didn't mention that it was iTunes only. There is a high contrast mode in iTunes. It is set using terminal commands. Given how you fixed it, it sounds like the toggle got flipped through some corruption.
In the end I blew away the .plist files an all is well. However, I still would like to know why it changed in the first place......
