I want to se a reminder for 12 hours before an appointment I have but the selections only allow 1 or 2 days before, and i would like 12 hours before. Is there a way to do this?

well for a 3pm meeting i wouldnt do 12 hours before, but for an 845am appointment i would like to be reminded the night before
Apparently not. However, third party apps will do what you want, for instance "Informant" which I use, and probably others.
Edit: Are you sure you want to be reminded of tomorrow afternoon's meeting at 3 in the morning??!
the weird thing is if i set it up on google calendars it will transfer to my calendar on iphone as 12 hours before the appointment, but if i create from iphone it wont give me that option.

Move the event to make it work out. You can put the same event in twice -- once to signify the actual event, and once to make the alert work out properly. You can even name one of the events "12 Hour Alert." Or, you can use the alarm feature in the clock.
"Pocket Informant", but a search in the App Store for "Informant" is quite forgiving. I see there is a "Pocket Informant HD" for the iPad of which I was unaware. Thanks for the nudge!
