Create Windows install disk option in Lion Bootcamp?

For me not works, i added <string>MBA32</string> but the option on bootcamp assistant continue on greyed. 😟

ok, finally, i have a solution...and i think that will works with all people with macbook air 3,2.

1- Add <string>MBA31</string>

2- Add <string>MBA32</string> (in the correct order, before the MBA40)

3- If you have Lion 10.7.2: add the final line that i put here (<string>MBA31.0061.B01</string>), on the DARequiredROMVersions section:

4- Supposed that you are using Textedit, go to textedit menubar: archive - save a version.

5- Format usb drive on Fat32 format.

6- Open bootcamp asistant and you will be able to choose the create usb option.

I hope that it works for you, for me at least, it works like a charm.

With the edit's, I now have the option to create a bootable USB in BootCamp. My problem now is my MacBook Pro fails to see the USB when I boot during BootCamp installation. I've tried the option key while restarting too without luck. Why does this have to be difficult to do?

I'll note that I have reloaded Lion with a bootable USB that I created. Looks as ifit's not playing well with Winblows.

I am using 2012 MacBook Pro with Model Identifier MBP81 (which was inserted chronologically)

I can confirm that jacktourist's post worked and adding my MacBook3,1 code so (MB31) to the bottom did not work, however when I added it to position 0 (the top) it worked!

As Steve Solo, I confirm jacktourist's method worked for my MacBook Pro (MBP31). Now I have the option to create the bootable USB but, as jmjm003, my MacBook Pro fails to see the USB when I reboot during BootCamp installation.

The MBP31 and maybe the MBP51 macbook's boot loader not support to boot from external device, like USB. Because of this on default mode you didn't use on the BootCamp the first option. Now the BootCamp problem was solved - I read as above.

The next step: need to change the boot loader under, which is a normal application. 2 years ago I've searching a lot that solve this problem and then I found it:

You will need to install a macosx bootloader editor tool called EFi Boot Menu & Tool kit ( rEFIt ) on your macbook. This bootloader allows for boot the the older Macbooks and iMacs from other USB drives. Documentation and everythings you will find on the above website.

I have a solution for some of you MBP users. I have a early 2011 MBP and my model number is Macbook Pro 8,2. When i tried the methods from ^^ i placed MBP82 in every possible position and it didnt work. I messed around with it a little bit more and saw that the codes in the info.plist file were.

so that MBP80 is what i input for my MBP82 and it worked. Hope this helped

basically instead of the 82 for 8,2 use 80 or whatever the # of your computer

No, I got an error saying, "unable to partition drive from USB" but I think I got this error because of how old this USB is. I am currently trying to find alternate solutions....

Solution 1: Burn my ISO to a DVD and use that as my boot disk

Solution 2: Try a different external hard disk or USB

Problems with solution 1 - error: "cannot partition disk because some files cannot be moved"

...have not tried solution 2 yet.
