os x lion frequent crashes

just installed lion os x.. the only reason i installed it was because the new iphone osx recommended i do it to get the most out of icloud etc.

now whenever i am running firefox and mail at the same time (maybe coincidence) the system freezes and tells me to restart with the grey screen overlay

anyone else have this issue? any fixes?

I ran disk utility and it did not fix issue

I'm struggling with the same problem, frequent system crashes after installing Lion. Hard to believe a modern OS will system crash.

Has anyone tried reinstalling the OS? Did it solve the problem?

That was the suggestion from the Genuis Bar. I don't have much confidence in this advice. The 'Genuis' seemed surprised I had any trouble at all with Lion, but I don't trust him after seeing so many similar threads.

My computer crashes consistently since I upgraded to Lion. I miss Snow Leopard, everything ran so smoothly.

Like others on this post I only upgraded so I can take advantage of iCloud. I want to go back!!! This is consistent crashing is NOT worth it and was the reason I moved to a Mac.

On a side note I already went through Apple Support once because the startup would take over 10 minutes after I upgraded to Lion. That problem was resolved.

Its pretty clear that this version of the OS was not tested properly and we are the ones doing the dirty work. I don't think its acceptable to charge a fee for this, or if they are going to charge money then they should warn which system specifications that are problematic.
