where is the idisk icon on lion os desktop?

I updated yesterday to Lion and now I can't see the idisk icon in my finder window. Can anybody tell me how can I find and leave an icon for my idisk in my finder?

Also: Now that I migrated all my files in the idisk to icloud, where do I save from now on my word docs.?

What about other formats?

Thanks.

Go to Finder Preferences (in the Finder menu) > Sidebar tab. Checkmark the item for iDisk under the Devices group. It should now be shown in the Sidebar in Finder windows.

You can also access your iDisk via the iDisk item in the Go menu in Finder.

An equivalent to iDisk is not included in iCloud services. For the time being you can still use iDisk as a repository for files, but at some time next year it will be killed.

For storage of files in addition to local storage on your internal hard drive, the alternatives are -

• external hard drive on your machine

• burn copies to optical disks

• on-line storage via some provider other than Apple

My brand new iMac at work came with Lion OS pre-installed and I don't have either of the above memtioned options available to show my iDisk. My older iMac at home which has been upgraded to Lion however does have the iDisk appearing in both the Finder sidebar (under devices) and in the Go Menu.

Is this problem dependent on whether the system was natively installed or upgraded from Snow Leopard?

At the moment I'm still stuck on how to get iDisk to show up in my Finder sidebar and in the go menu of my brand new Mac. 😟

Can anyone help?

😟 I'm having same problem and I upgraded from Snow Leopard to Lion on both Macbook Pro and Quad core pro. The macbook pro sees the idisk and gives me the ability to access both my own idisk and also others I have permission to get to. Very cool features not available to me on my Quad core. It has to be setting/preference setting but where the &&***is it?

I'm spending way too much time trying to find a solution/ have to push /pull files to laptop then move them over my LAN.

HELP!
