Cannot copy photo to Finder

Trying to copy a photo I just edited in iPhoto to the Finder, and I get a message "The operation can't be completed because it isn't supported". Not sure why this is occurring, as I copied the photo 10 minutes before. Tried dragging and dropping into Finder as well as copy and paste. This is not the first time I've encountered this issue. Any advice much appreciated!

Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Reveal in Finder -> Original. A Finder Window should open with the file selected. Does it?

Exactly the same problem for me with photos I just edited in iPhoto - I was getting that same message regardless of drag/drop or copy/paste - and then, yes, I was able to reveal in finder as suggested. I tried repairing permissions with Disk Utility as suggested but that did not seem to help with the edited photos with which I have this problem. In fact after performingh the repair, the last photo I had this problem with I could not reveal in finder (initially it showed an "Operation cannot be completed" type of message, and now it just simply does not copy. Curious?
