New with 5.0 pale graphics

I have received the new white Ipod Touch 4th Gen with the 5.0 update and the graphics seem very pale and the movements seem sluggish. I had the previous 4th gen (stolen) and it had great graphics and speed. Anyone else notice this? I own the iPad2, an iPhone4 (with OS5.0) and an iMac. This is my first complaint with an Apple product. Have I received a Lemon?
