How do I recover my iCloud password?

I just bought account edge and have put it on all my devices. In order to back up account edge files onto Icloud it ask for me to enter my Icloud password but I cant remember it. I usually save my passwords and just completely forgot to save it. Does anyone know how I can recover that password?

I have found so far that your Apple Support Community login is the same as your iCloud login and your app store login.

This isn't necessarilly true for everyone. Many people have two Apple IDs, one for iTunes, these forums, and possibly hardware registration, and another created when they started a MobileMe or iCloud subscription (your MobileMe/iCloud login is an Apple ID). It's a common error to get them mixed up: you need to log into MobileMe/iCloud with your @me.com email address, not the ID you use for iTunes if this is different. If you want to reset your MobileMe/iCloud password go to http://appleid.apple.com and, again, sign in with your @me.com email address.

I thought that was true too and originally posted a comment here to that effect, until I found out that by recovering and resetting one of them it reset the others. My comment only extends to the ones mentioned in my comment, not others you mention that I did not test.

However, as a matter of fact I just tried my "Find My iPhone" login (me.com) and it had been reset to the same PW. The me.com login now takes you directly to the iCloud login so those have been collapsed into one.

Indeed, but in many cases the iTunes/App Store/Discussion Forums/Hardware registration Apple ID may be different so resetting that won't affect iCloud. It just depends on how people got their IDs - mine are the same for iTunes and iCloud but a lot of people's aren't.

The PWs may well be different where people have signed up using different user IDs, if and where that is possible.

Yes, that's the situation I was describing. It usually arose when people had an ID for iTunes, hardware registration etc., which didn't have to be an @mac.com or @me.com email address, and then later on opened a .Mac/MobileMe/iCloud account which of course did have to be an@mac.com/@me.com address.

the only reason I stated that an iCloud

account was an apple id is

because the original

poster of the message stated that they

were trying to recover there iCloud password

and the site I referred the user

to was referring to apple Ids as apple

IDs rather than iCloud account it was

to eliminate confusion not to say that

an apple ID had to be an iCloud account

if I was to define an apple ID I would state

that an apple ID is a user name and password

you would use to login to apple services

such as iTunes iCloud FaceTime and certain

apple website features such as these discussions

and the username is generally an email address

you already had prior to creating the apple

ID or one you aquired from apple but

in saying that some older apple IDs

consisted of first and last name or

another phrase defined by the

account holder

Keychain seems not to store my icloud password! All it has is a bunch of garbled text, as if it is encrypted.

Keychain shows the other passwords when I choose Show Password and type in my login password. When I click on Show Password on the icloud key or an application key and click allow it just shows a bunch of letters and numbers Example Kj3.=JKeec=9*7@KADdds>- Why is this happening??

I would say the entry is corrupt

although iCloud is a part of system

preferences so it could very well be

an encryption method either way this

does not help recover your password

try iforgot.apple.com or

apple.com/support/iTunes/contact and

select contact support via express lane

then select iTunes store and follow the

prompts to contact the iTunes store support

team via web message

for assistance resetting your password

p.s if contacting iTunes store support

mention be sure to mention the steps

you have tried so far to resolve your issue

other wise they will ask you to repeat them

and If you have issues filling in the web form

contact apple tech support and they will

fill out the form for you
