My Macbook Pro CPU temp is 80c is this normal?

My MBP Fan is running all the quite often the CPU core is often hitting 80 with the Diode sitting around 80c

This is using Temperature Monitor. The room temp is about 25C.


Is this normal?

Does any one know what the normal temps should be?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.2)

That's normal if the machine is working hard. If you don't think it should be working hard considering what you're aware of doing with it, read this article for a way of finding out what's making it work hard and perhaps stopping whatever process is gobbling up lots of processor cycles, generating extra heat unnecessarily, and running down your battery rapidly if you're running on battery power:
