*Important--iPhone4s Static/Crackling Noise

i am having the same issue. i got my phone two weeks ago and just started hearing the static today.

Hi all, just been experiencing this now for the last

10-15 min even as I am typing this.

I have not as yet experienced this with headphones.

Very strange crackling on and off not consistent.

Will try to record. Thanks for all the posts.

Still have this issue as well.

Tried everything, from switching off data, to fulle restoring the phone.

Still have the static noise, it's driving me crazy ><

I also have a echo when I use the supplied headphones to make a call.

Sometimes not right away, but after a few minutes of talking.

Very annoying, as my 3GS was a perfect phone, so now I feel like returning to that one.

Please don't just complain here, but go to the Apple Store or Call them!!!

Hi all, update from my last post Friday 28oct.

Do not recall when on Friday night it stopped.

But Saturday and now Sunday morning GMT as I post.

There has been no crackling at all.

Sorry I can not provide a solution of how it stopped.

Hope you all experience the same phone repairing itself.

i returned my my first iphone 4s and swapped it for another and noticed it was still there but that night it seemed it also went away thankfully i hope everyones else who has this issue has finally got this issue resolved.

It seems intermittent but i have the same issue with a 4s 32GB white. Very annoying!

No other way. We have to wait for software update. But when it will be ....?

Not having that problem. I'll keep an ear out for it now, though.

I just recently noticed the same problem on my black 32GB 4S on AT&amp;T and promptly returned it for a replacement phone. I set up my new phone and noticed the same cracklin problem in my replacement phone. Upon further investigation I noticed that the crackling noise goes away when I turn on airplane mode, which makes me think that this is a network problem rather than a hardware problem. Let me know if anyone else can confirm this.

I have tested in EU on T-mobile, Orange and a few others so I think that this not a network problem. My iP4 sn is DNQ...... from 40 week. Maybe here is the key. Check your number.

I'm having the same problems with my new 16GB iPhone 4s. Static, echoing, and distortion - all when using the earphones. It happens sporadically on outgoing and incoming calls - sometimes at the beginning, sometimes a few minutes into the call. Unplugging the earphones usually stops it, but it's very annoying. The Apple store gave me a new set of earphones, but it made no difference - same problems. I'm on AT&T in Salt Lake City. I've never had any of these problems with my iPhone 4, 3Gs, 3g, or original.
