i don't know if everyone experiences this but, does iOS 5 lag on your device? especially on the iPod Touch 4?

Yes, it's really noticeable when you turn it off. The shutter sound sometimes takes a second or two before you hear it.

SAME HERE, laggy on SAFARI, laggy on the newest versions of FACEBOOK, TWITTER, slow playing MUSIC, when playing INFINITY BLADE it seems to be in slow motion, I can't even write this cause of the massive lags I'm experimenting, What can we do? APPLE HEAR OUR PRAY: FIX THOSE BIG BUGS, we don't like this iOS 5, it was better before! Help!

My ipod touch 4th gen was lagging after updating to iOS 5 also.

First I turned off the cloud thingy. Then I tried resetting it and it seems to respond much better now. I said reset, not restore. To do a reset just hold the power button and the home button for about 6-7 seconds, wait for the screen to go blank, then the Apple logo should appear. Let go and let it finish resetting. This reset my ipod touch to not have that lag that everyone here is not happy with. I know, it bothered me to no end to turn it off, and 3-5 seconds later I'd hear the shutter click.

Don't know how long this will keep it working good, but it seems to have fixed it for now.

it's worth a try.

yes, it's driving me nuts. safari is the worst offender. simply opening the app and tapping the address bar takes over 5 seconds before input is allowed.

it is also very noticable when tapping play/pause from the lock screen or unlocking the iPod during music playback.

i've restored my iPod and it didn't seem to fix anything...

here's hoping 5.1 will fix this... (along with the battery drain, which did slightly improve with 5.0.1)

I had the same problem as well. However, I found what has been causing those symptoms, to fix the issue, go to Settings, Safari, scroll down until you see Advanced, open it and click Website Data, click edit and delete all data. Now, my iPod touch doesn't lag at all. You will need to follow up with that fix once in a while, otherwise it will lag again. Cheers! 🙂

Guys this lag Is because apple is knologeble when it comes to profit. They know that the lag is intolerable on the 4th gen devices but they understand that we won't completely rid of the apple experience. They know we can't live without an iOS device so the 4th gen iPod I beleive has the specs to run the new iOS fine with no lag but realizing that we want the best experience they made sure that the new iPhone 4s which I have, would have no lag. Its all about squeezing us dry then when we are about to say skrew it they release the next newest and greatest thing for us to feed back into it. I enjoy apple and their products but I wish they wouldn't muck with the user experience on older devices just to make more money. But I'm a Hippocrate and would do the same thing. Bottom line is if you want to feel the lagless IOS we all KNEW, you must buy a 5th gen or higher device.
