bcc emails not showing in my sent emails

Hello

When I send email using Apple Mail in Lion (10.7.2) the BCC recipients emails don't display in my own sent emails (in the sent emails mailbox).

I know they should not display on the receiving end, but I still would like to keep a record to whom I've sent the emails....

Any ideas ?

Thank you

Carlo

Thank you so much! None of the other suggestions worked for me, as there isn't even a bcc choice in the preferences, viewing, etc on my version. But I searched for one of the names and it pulled up the sent message with all of the bcc addresses. Really annoying to have to do it this way and I only discovered that it wasn't working as it used to when I forwarded the original and found that I was the only one who received it.

this doesn't work, and you sure think it would: a Custom box with Bcc right there. but no. does nothing. no Bccs showing in my Sent box. not in Full Headers. is it missing from the email archive data? that would be great. why has this been a problem for years? imagine all the wasted time of so many people diddling with this sillyness. and there are so many things like this. unpaid beta testers? hours of every company going to useless computer timewasting? and in twenty years who will even know how to write by hand. the 'high tech dark age' ...

Same here - very strange. Last Saturday I sent one email to a bunch of people in BCC: and I can see the BCC addresses. Then I sent the same email with everything else the same using "Send again" and changed the BCCs and I CAN'T SEE those BCC recipitents.

Both emails were sent from my Apple Mail version 7.2 that is configred with my gmail acount.

Mystery mystery...

I too, found this VERY frustrating, and while I had my own workaround to always copy and paste the bccs into a new email that I wouldn't send, but would save, this was only useful if I remembered to do that. Once I pressed send with a group of BCCs, I could not see them again on that sent mail.

However, I think I have finally figured out a way to retrieve BCCs from a sent email. In the email search box, type in the name of one person you know you bcc'd on that email. The email will pop up (possibly multiple iterations of it) labeled as Trash, and from there, you can see all the BCCs again and re-copy them. I tried looking directly in the TRASH folder and these previous iterations of the sent email were not visible. They only popped up when I searched a specific name.
