Well, I've had to pay £50 excess on my insurance to replace the handset. Apple- no warranty after 14 months. Vodafone have a blank face when I mention Consumer Statutory Rights as they were the retailer. The whole thing is a farce. The product is not fit for use and I now challenge Apple to explain what is going on. There are loads of other discussions going on at this site, all of which are under different headings.

Hi. I wonder if anyone can help me. I have an Iphone 4s. The wifi of the phone has start to playing up about a week ago now. Ive been on 6.1.3 for quite a long time. So I can't blame the update for it. At the beginning I just restarted the phone and thats fixed the issue for sometimes hours, sometimes only for half an hour. I even got the famous greyed out wifi too. I did the network reset, erased everything, restored to original settings, installed IOS 7 beta 4 hoping its IOS6. Nothing worked. I put it back to 6.1.3 again. Taken the sim card out, as today I wanted to take it to O2 to have it fix by them. However since last night my wifi has been working nicely without my sim card! Got home from work and the phone connected to the network straight away.I was very sure that its a hardware fault but now Im confused again. Any suggestion? Thanks.

I've got a made-in-china WiFi-3G router and it worked fine with my PC alone but could only stand any iDevice (counting both of our iPhones and my wife's iPad) for an hour or so. Then the internet turned "half-asleep" responding poorly and with long delay sometime, and sometime stopping to work altogether while connection held but no data were transferred. I realised that the major problem about iDevices was that they got into very intensive data communication, by taking as much channels as possible, in attempt to sync with Apple ID, check for updates, do iCloud backup and Photo Stream also pushing numerous notifications and checking emails. Then changing the cheap router to something technologically solid, like Zixel was my way to help it.

My previous router was "win-star", (and there is a number of other models carrying the same chip, but pretenting to be assembled in Europe, like few from Spain). If you got a peace of rubbish like this one, send it to where it belongs: your rubbish canister. If you want to keep it no matter what, stop abusing your poor iThings, but try to ease the load by turning off most of notifications as well as iCloud Backup and Photo Stream, and once your internet becomes sleepy again, turn off then wait 5 seconds then turn back on your WiFi router.

Hope this helps.

Because you only need to post your 'solution' ONCE. Doing it in multiple threads is pointless, and disruptive.

Your 'solution' might be effective in some very, very rare cases. Better than the hairdryer method, at least, since turning the LED on is normal operation of the device, and shouldn't void warranty. But it's unlikely to work, to be honest.
