MS Exchange notes sync iOS 5

I notice the same thing. Even deleted and recreate the account to confirm. I wonder if an update is needed on the exchange server?

I'm on the same boat. Cant find anything on the internet about it and apple support seem to be ignoring posts about it.

I could have sworn it synced notes under iOS 4.

This was a key feature for us as a business and it's been removed from iOS5 by the looks of it.

yes it did work in iOS4 and i heavily used it for business. just finished updating to iOS 5.0.1 and they did not add a fix for this.

OK so we're saying that iOS5 (annoyingly) doesn't support Notes Sync.

Until Apple recitfy their blunder has anyone come up with an alternative solution or work around at all? Is there anyway to get notes onto the device. An app even?

Apple licenses the Exchange ActiveSync protocol from Microsoft. EAS does not support syncing of Notes. If it worked in iOS 4, I don't know how it was implemented.

Exchange Note and Task support in MS Activesync was added in Exchange 2010. From that point on it is the handset manufacturers decision whether to include/exclude certain activesync capabilites.

I have an android currently and have to use the touchdown sofware to get notes functionality - but it does work perfectly. The issue is that none of the handset manufacturers (apple included) - have decided to add in the addtional task/notes functionality into their native activesync support.

Im aware of touchdown for android being a very good program on the android that supports the notes/tasks.

Im currrently looking for a similar program for apple - as quite a few of our staff have signaled their intention to move away from blackberry onto iphones.

I have just been changed over to an exchange server. On my iPhone (OS5.1) the notes are not available from the exchange account, but if I connect using an IMAP account I can get my email notes to sync with the iPhone's Notes app. Currently I have turned on Mail, Contacts, Calendars and Reminders in the exchange account and just Notes in the IMAP account.

Try IMExchange2. I use it for tasks and notes (Exchange 2010 server) and it works perfectly on my iphone and ipad.

looking at the reviews of IMExchange2, i'd be weary. looks like the features stop after 30 days and you have to pay. And people who have already paied, are haveing issues getting the paied version back after an iOS update. And the app dev's NEVER respond to any of there emails.

FTR, setup a secondery "imapi" profile connected to exchange and then ONLY sync the Notes folder. (thats all what IMExchange2 does 😉 )

Yes, the developer never responds and yes you should pay for the upgrade, but this application has worked flawlessly on my ipad and iphone for 2 years. It doesn't work for some because of Exchange security configurations, but for those who don't have these security restrictions it is an incredible application for Exchange notes and tasks.

Any idea what the Exchange security configurations are?

I'm certainly not the Exchange expert, but I seem to remember reading something about the need for WebDav to be fully acessible. If this doesn't help, look through the imExchange 2 reviews as I seem to remember someone explaining in detail what needs to be done to the Exchange server.
