I have the new iPhone 4s and obviously IOS5.

I have a few email accounts on the phone and have done for a few years.

Except now I have a problem sending emails on my Hotmail account?

I get this message:

CANNOT SEND MAIL: No password provided for SMTP: xxx@hotmail.com@smtp.live.com

Please go to mail account settings and enter a password.

Obviously I have gone to settings and re-entered my password but I still get the same error message.

Can someone please help me?

Thanks

IPhone 4s, iOS 5

I think that is a hotmail problem. I sometimes get that exact error even on my computer. Then, all of a sudden it will start working again. This has happened on my mac, my pc, and my iOS devices. It has happened off and on for about 3 years - maybe once every 2-3 months. So, give it a couple of hours. It might be that that is what is happening to you and your iPhone are totally fine.

I'm having exactly the same problem. It keeps saying there is no password provided for my account, when there clearly is.

Has anyone got a solution please?

And my hotmail still works on my old 3GS so mine isn't a problem with hotmail..

Like I said, it could still be a problem with Hotmail!!!!

It happens to me out of nowhere from my mac, iphone, ipad, and old pc (on XP, Vista, and Win7). All of a sudden only one of them cannot access the email. Then a few hours later all of a sudden all works fine.

I'm not saying that is your problem too, but it could be. I spent hours over several days trying to figure it out (2 years ago) and I finally gave up. It's usually not an issue, but when it happens it's really annoying. Sometimes it will last an entire day.
