Sealed Media Unsealer solution

For those of you who have this error appear when you startup your Lion installation:

"The SealedMedia Unsealer cannot run on this version of Mac OS X. The system software you are running is too new and is not supported by this version of the Unsealer. P;ease get an updated Unsealer from you content provider, or check http://downloads.sealedmedia.com/ "

As of this writing, the current version of the SealedMedia Unsealer (an Adobe plugin used to allow viewing of digital content, including textbooks) is not available for Lion and Adobe above version 9. The system requirements for the plugin require Adobe 8-9.3. If, like me, you have Adobe 10.x installed, you can't use this plugin.

The solutions given have been to download the newest installer and then use the uninstaller to remove it. However, if you have Adobe 10.x installed or are running Lion, you will get an error that says you can't install because your system doesn't meet the system requirements.

So your best bet is to find the SealedMedia folder that should already be in your Applications folder and use the uninstaller there. I chose 'Standard uninstall' but either would work. You may still get an error that says there was an error and you should restart your system and run the uninstaller again but it will no longer give you the error message upon startup of your system once you run the uninstaller once.

You can only reinstall if you have adobe reader version 8 or 9. So, find that version of adobe reader (i uninstalled the most recent reader just in case).

Once the unsealer installs. Click on the uninstall icon and bang bam. done. I had no more error messages

This worked for me running 10.9. I had Reader 9 on my computer already.
