    Changing my Apple ID password solved the problem for me.

    Well I have had the problem since Monday morning on Imac, macBook pro, Ipad and Iphone.


    Been on the phone to ApleCare and Mobile Me support.


    2Hours later. The problem was resolved by:

    A password reset instruction from Apple

    Deleting Icloud account on all devices,and iCloud mail accounts on MAIL (non Lion)   or if Lion it will promt you for a new password , followed by recreation with the new password.

    Definitely not my problem. Got to be a server problem in Icloud.

    But it is working now.



    But Moble me support chatted to me for 1 hour and 31 minutes

    Thanks for the tips, lyengar. I'll go through that routine if I have to, but I'm hoping the issue resolves itself. I'm still getting the errors, but mail is now working for me more often than not.


    Overall, still a frustrating experience and one that was not triggered by a password reset or any other action that I can think of on my part. Not what I usually expect from Apple.


    For anyone who is getting the errors, I'd suggest logging into iCloud using Safari on your Mac and going to Mail. At that point, if you're suffering from this issue, you should get a "Mail could not be loaded" (or similarly worded) message which gives you the option to notify Apple of the problem. By all means click that button so Apple gets the feedback.

    so it must be server p02

    I've been having the same problem for the past couple of hours on all of my devices and there are a lot of other recent threads here reporting the same problem.  I think it's safe to say that there is a problem with the iCloud service that will continue until Apple identifies it and fixes it.

    I contributed earlier that I got fixed by resetting password and deleting accounts on all devices  (everything that i got) followed by recreating the accounts.

    Support provided me with a fix for the problem that I had.

    However as the problem is obviously caused by a corrupted password control server  it seems to me that the server problem will take longer to fix and might eventually be fixed by the iCloud people. Don't hold your breath. 


    In the meantime I offer another suggestion. Support did tell me that my passord may have been invalid, ie did not have the required number of capital letters and numbers.

    My password was an old one , used by me on Mobile me and apparently Icloud requires Capital letters and Numbers in it.


    Perhaps iCloud is crawling through all the old passwords and invailidating them. Mind you it would have taken took 6 weeks for them to discover my old mobile me passord was invalid.

    It would still be a bug if they invalidated it without telling me.

    Just another thought. At least I am working well again.....

    After almost  5 days without email on my iMac computer and iPhone 4S, the problem seems to be gone by itself.

    Corry a MobileMe Senior Advisor did replied to me that he will be taking on this case. That night my problem

    was gone without any help from Apple ? coincidence or just luck ?

    Unfortunately I cannot explain how it was solved, so I can't really share anything helpful to the community but

    I am sure Apple knows the problem and discretely fixing it.


    I will monitor mail activity on both devices and counter check using iCloud running Safari web browser.

    If anything looks suspicious or I have any kind of discrepancies I will get back to the community.

    In the mean time I did ask Corry to acknowledge all of the other users with the same problem as me on the Apple Community.

    Now my problem is solved:


    - I have deleted all iCloud settings from all devices (keeping all data)

    - I have reset the password in iforgot website, but using the confirmation with the email, not by answering the security questions

    - I have put again all iCloud settings

    Signing out of iCloud and then signing in again has worked for me on my MacBook.

    Signing out of iCloud (system preferences) and signing back in did it for me (kept Contacts).


    Interesting--mail was coming to my phone when it wouldn't come to my computer (using Mail) and I could sign in to iCloud via Safari and all of my mail was there.

    Interesting part 2. My Apple mail account in Mail has been renamed to "iCloud". (It was called "Mac" before)

    Thank you so much for posting this idea!  I also signed out of iCloud and signed back in and it fixed the problem. I am so disappointed in Apple for not doing more to let people know about this issue.

    Ditto: signing out of iCloud on my Mac worked for me as well. However, my password no longer worked when I tried to sign in so I had to change it, but it works now.

    Signing out and in of iCloud did solve the problem.

    no password change was necessary.

    It feels like cleaning windows......

    I too am having the same issue.....The iCloud IMAP server “” rejected the password for user ....blah blah blah.....
