IPT 2g 8Gb randomly crashes but not when pluged into itunes.

Hi, My IPT crashes randomly when in use but not when its pluged into iTunes.

It can be playing music and crash but the music wont stop. Sometimes it will crash when looking for a track and nothing will respond screen,home and off button. Only a hard reset can get it out of the crash.

I have iOS 4.1 installed at the moment and have tried iOS 4.2.1. Both crash randomly but iOS 4.1 seems to run smother on it. Is there a way to put iOS 3.xx back on?

The battery is fully charged.

- Apple does not support downgrading an iOS. Sorry.

- Have you tried restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod to rule out some corrupting that is in yur backup is causing the problem. If you still have the problem after that, then you likely have a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
