my iphone 4s wont connect to itunes on my computer..help?

it always comes up as an error when i plug it into my computer and will not connect to my itunes..as well neither will my ipod touch

iPhone 4, iOS 5

i followed the iphone support help on apples website and it didnt help..and it took away the error message..but it just said that itunes cannot connect iphone at this time n then had a bunch of numbers mostly 0's

yes and it still didnt work and the next thing it said was to come here and look for help
