iPhone 4s shows up in iTunes as connected when not connected

So, I know that the iPhone 4s is supposed to sync when connected to a wifi network and plugged into a power source, but mine seems to be connecting to iTunes even when not connected to a power source... and to be honest, I don't want it to be connecting all the time.

How can I turn this off?

Connect your iPhone to your computer and click on it, you should see an option under options for 'sync with this phone over wi-fi' unclick it and it should stop connecting over wifi.

I should say in iTunes, click on your iPhone and scrool down to see options.
