I just activated my iPhone 4s and when I call or receive a call the phone activates the speakerphone automatically even if I have a headset connected.
When I click on speaker phone button it doesn't connect either to headset or normal speaker.
I appreciate if someone can help or if you are facing the same issue

i'm having the same problem. apple replaced my phone yesterday, but still same problem as soon as i paired my jawbone era headset after pariing my car. still does it after removing jawbone, resetting network settings, restarting and adding in my plantronix 975. also, when apple replaced the phone, i did NOT restore from backup but setup as a new phone. no relief.
From what a read it's a hardware issue and maybe you are unlucky to get two faulty phones in a row. I think they should replace it for you again.
I have done all the trickes in the book but with no luck.
I took back and got a new one and running smoothly with the wired headset and my car bluetooth.
Hope I don't get another surprise.

Same problem here: any suggestions?
Check the setting under Settings>General>Accessibility>Incoming Calls.
It can be set to automatically go to the default output device, The wired Headset, or Speaker.
It's set on "Default"...
