restart wifi every time I want to use internet, problem!!

I have an iMac with Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2, I have a problem every time my computer goes in stand-by or I don't use the internet for a while when I work on it, the internet connection goes away, then I have to restart my wifi on the iMac, sometimes this wouldn't work so I would have to restart the entire system just go have internet connection again.

I had this problem since I bought the computer, but it started to get worst and more often.

How would I fix it?

The first place to start is with your internet connection and router. You can start by resetting the modem and router. If that doesn't fix it then the next thing to check is if your router's firmware is up-to-date. You will need the manual for your router to do that. If you are using either an Airport Express, Airport Extreme or Time Capsule you can use Airport Utility and it will make that task quite simple.

The router is Thomson, and I use 5 PC and a Macbook Pro which I bought 3 months ago (Lion OS) which all work fine with the router.

Is there any way to diagnose the problem with this iMac? diagnosis tool? something?

Thanks but you didn't didn't do what I asked, did you reset the router and check to see if it has the most up-to-date firmware.

You are assuming it's an iMac issue, when it may be the router. I'm not saying it's not the iMac all I'm saying first eliminate the network which includes your modem and router being out of date.
