The software on the iPhone has expired and must be upgraded to a newer version

Been using my iPhone 4 for days with iOS 5. Got off a call and not it wants be to reactivate for some reason. so I go to iTunes to reactivate. It says the "The software on the iPhone has expired and must be upgraded to a newer version" so I click the update button in iTunes and it says it's up to date but still can't activate. HELP!!!!!

That's because you put a Beta version of iOS 5.0 on your phone. All the iOS 5.0 betas have expired. You'll have to restore your phone in iTunes to re-activate it.
