Iphone wont verify my Apple ID, can't update apps

I've tried repeatedly to verify my ID. I get the email, click the verify link. But then I go into the App Store to update and it tells me my ID is not verified when I put in my password.

I tried changing the ID (to a different email address) and back again. Still no go.

Any ideas?
